Poverty in Pakistan

Poverty in Pakistan
In general poverty is defined as a person living less than 1$ a day according to the records billions of people are living under 1$ a day .However there are much issues that Pakistan is facing like suicide attacks, Corruption in which Pakistan is promoted to 42nd worlds corrupt country from 45th ,Different types of criminal activities ,Poverty e.t.c so there are so much issues about which we felt not sure that to which issue we rank the major one but what I think is that all of them are started from just one major issue and that is poverty so it is the major one which should be control as fast as it could be possible.

The main purpose of controlling this act is that if individuals of our country are free from this type of tention and stress then they will not involved in such type of activities which can ruin their lives and all of this scenario can inversely effect the Pakistan . It is the responsibility of our state to do some extra efforts to control this fastly growing problem. There are several ways which can be adopt by our Government to operate with this disease . They have to provide opportunities to both the man and women so they can both help the country to came out from this crucial scenario.

They should made training centers where they trained them and then make them eligible for the task. The should be no discrimination of personality each every person should be appointed because of his qualities and ability .The level of poverty is different in urban and rural areas. The level of poverty is 2 times more in rural areas then to urban and the records and surveys says that more of the crimes including suicide bombers, street crimes, killing e.t.c are done by the people of rural areas so this whole facts and figures says that the poverty is the main root of all these issues “So to control them we have to control this”

Curtailing Juvenile Delinquencies

There are different forms of juvenile delinquencies and one should try to figure out the source of these offences committed by children instead of punishing them every time with the hope that it will bring these offences to an end. In this context, this note sets out a number of recommends that if implemented are likely to decrease the juvenile delinquencies in Pakistan.
Poverty is a key driver of juvenile delinquencies. Family stricken with economic usually cannot afford to educate their children. From a very age, children of these families are forced to work. Lack of education and guidance from parent’s means that moral values do no develop in these children and they cannot differentiate between right and wrong. This makes them easy targets of criminal gangs that recruit them.
Another key factor is the family and home environment that children receive. Parents should try to live in harmony and should provide a good home environment to their children. They should give focus on all aspects of their children developments. This could include having regular discussions with them, monitoring their academic progress, teaching them the values and ethics they should follow in their life. A disruptive home environment marked with frequent fights between the parents is likely to have a significant negative impact on the personality of the child. Under such a situation, the child might feel deprived and ignored and might try to gain attention through getting involved in criminal offences.
One kind of juvenile delinquency is socio-path; this refers to a personality disorder of a child who has committed an offence. This disorder should be diagnosed before punishing or imprisoning the child. Once diagnosed, the child should undergo a therapy as soon as possible. If these children will be punished or sent to jail, it would aggravate their problem and would have a negative impact on their personality.
Working parents are usually not able to spare a lot of time for their children. However, as mentioned above, this is likely to have a negative impact on the personality of the child. Therefore working parents should focus on striking a work life balance and any spare time they get, they should spend with their children engaging them in extracurricular activities such as sports and other outdoor activities.
Another factor contributing juvenile delinquencies are fundamental systems in our institutions. Our institutions such as educational universities and professional organization have failed to contribute towards the moral and ethical developments of children. It usually considered an area which is the responsibility of the parents alone. This is significant short coming of our societal structure. It is essential to realize that the up brining, moral and ethical development of the children is collective responsibility that includes parents, teachers and other aspects of the society which the children interacts with.
Certain aspects of the modern media have also contributed towards juvenile delinquencies. Media should not be promoting programs or dramas that encourage violence or juvenile delinquencies. Instead the media should be used to disseminate positive messages which help the youth to learn a positive lesson and help him improve his society values. Media can also serve to eliminate the crimes which are excessively prevalent in the society. For example these days young boys are increasingly been used in suicide bombing in Pakistan in the name of jihad. A constructive on media’s part on this issue could be to air programmes that explain to the people the underlying principles of Islam that are reflective of peace and forgiveness.
The biggest role can be played by the government itself. The government should make sure that everyone is able to attain a minimum standard of living. For this, a number of economic and social reforms such as the increase in social welfare spending and incentivizing foreign investment (that would eventually lead to job creations) can be undertaken. Government should also try to crack down on criminals. This requires an efficient and honest police and judicial system.
In terms of social sectors reforms, government should make sure that affordable education is accessible to all students. For outstanding students, it should provide scholarships and other forms of funding so that they can attain higher education from world class institutions. The prospects of a better future that entails economic prosperity will incentivize children to focus on their education and work hard at it. Once they will complete their initial education, they would be able to earn a decent income which would help them survive a basic standard of living.
For juvenile delinquents that are spending their term in the jail, the approach should be to help them differentiate between the right and the wrong and develop moral and ethical values in them. This would entail providing educational facilities in the jail. Moreover, an effort should be made to teach these children skills that they can use to earn a living such as craftsmanship.
Overall, all other measures discussed above are likely to have a substantial impact on curtailing juvenile delinquencies in Pakistan.

Causes of Juvenile Crime in Pakistan

Juvenile crimes are not only grass rooted in our society due to poverty and survival but are a result of social disorder which prevails in all spheres of our life. It is a social dilemma of our society, where we are unable to mould our community to higher morals and acceptability of other’s right. Juvenile crimes are particularly high in urban areas, especially Lahore because it is an amalgam of all social classes, where poorest to richest subsists, and this clash of wealth gives birth to crimes. When, poor are compelled to commit crimes, considering other who has the luxuries of life. Social discrimination and lust for the more, gives birth to such heinous crimes.
Government has been ignorant of considering juvenile criminals as an exception from professional criminals as they constitute of the youth of the country. There have been efforts made including providing them education and facilitating them with modern technology at some jails in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi etc. However, these attempts are insufficient and should be further extended to all other minor cities’ jails. By providing them education and catering to their needs, it would help to extinguish their anguish and anxiety towards the society. It is the responsibility of the government to nourish these individuals to become better human beings rather than professional criminals. As these children are the future of the country, they should be enhanced to contribute positively to the society and become a valuable asset to the country. If proper measures are not taken to curb juvenile criminal activities, due to already dooming economy, it would be a strong threat to social prosperity. Government, as well as, individual need to realize the social implication of juvenile crimes. If a child has been in jail for a few months for a minor crime, and if he is not properly treated his punishment would become a liability to the society rather than help the community by bringing him to the right path.

The juvenile justice order system regarding under age children allows for a reduction in their punishment sentence but it needs to be amended to create a more comprehensive document working for the betterment of juvenile criminals who are not professional criminals. The sentence for them should be reduced and there should more awareness as well as educating of these criminals.
As individual we need to accept our responsibility and work for the social welfare of these criminals. The law making policy regarding them and helping them on societal basis is very important. Because, they are a part of the youth of the country and the future generation in whose hands this country would be held. Therefore, we need to thrive as society and remove malevolence such as juvenile crimes in our society.

Violence aginst Women in Pakistan

Women victims of domestic violence encounter even higher levels of unresponsiveness and hostility, as actors at all levels of the criminal justice system typically view domestic violence as a private matter that does not belong in the courts. When asked about the domestic violence victims who have been examined at his office, the head medico legal doctor for Karachi explained that 25 percent of such women come with self-inflicted wounds. Human Rights Watch has investigated the Pakistan government's response to the pervasive problem of violence against women in the country's two largest cities, Karachi and Lahore. Despite the severity of the problem, the government's response has been indifferent at best. At worst it has served to exacerbate the suffering of women victims of violence and to obstruct the course of justice. A stark example of the serious flaws in the applicable legislation is the fact that the very filing of rape charges can make the victim vulnerable to prosecution for extramarital sex. In some instances victims of rape and sexual abuse have actually been detained for months or even years, prior to trial, on charges of illicit sexual intercourse. Since statutory rape is not a crime in Pakistan, even barely pubescent girls alleging rape risk being charged with fornication or consensual sex outside of marriage.

Crime Rates increased by 20.1%

Despite the efforts and measures taken by the government and tall claims of law enforcement agencies for busting gangs, the crime rate in the country is increasing day by day and the crime rate is said to be touching 20.1 percent during the last one year in all over the country. the graph of vehicle theft and snatching, mobile phones snatching , fatal incidents and general cimes is on rise while police and other law enforcers are raising pleasant slogans and making non-stop claims fo busting criminal gangs and rounding up individuals indulging in vehicle snatching and other crimes. Despite establishment of apid response centes, anti car lifting cells, citizen police liaison committees, Mohafiz squads, blocking snatched mobile phones, Madagar-15, anti terrorist squad and improvement in the highway patrolling by four provinces and administeration of Capital Territory, the law enforcement agencies have miseably failed to control such incidents.

Terrorism in Pakistan

Pakistan has suffered from the killing of noncombatants by both state and non-state actors with the latte group often based both inside and outside the present-day country. there was massive loss of non-combatant life during patition of British India and creation of Pakistan. stife between Shia and Sunni Muslims and persecution of Ahmediyyas occured as early as the 1950s.

Currently however, the biggest threat to the state and citizens of Pakistan emanates killing civilians and policemen to achieve their political ends, origination of which can be attributed to General Zia ul Haq's controversial "Islamization" policies, the president of the country in the 1980s. His tenure saw Pakistan's exceeding involvement in Soviet-Afghan War, which led to greater influx of ideologically driven Afghan Arabs in the tribal areas and the explosion of kalashnikoy and drugs culture. the state and its intelligence agency inter-services intelligence in alliance with the United States ans Central Intelligence Agency encouraged the mujahideen to fight the proxy war against the Soviet Union, most of which were never disarmed after the war. some of these groups were later activated under the behest of the state in the form of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen and others were encouraged like Taliban to achieve state's agenda in Kahmir and Afghanistan. The same groups are now taking on the state itself.

Lack of Education in Pakistan

Lack of education is one problem that needs to be solved as only it can lead to a brighter future for Pakistan. The problems concerning education our numerous but this article is concerning Gender Disparity and how education of girls is thought as something that will lead to the doom of Pakistan, instead of it progression by the Talibans.

Gender Disparity in Education is majorly affected by the new era of Talibans and terrorism. Talibans enforced a complete ban on female education in the Swat District. At a stroke, 60 girls were deprived of their education, joining countless others across Pakistan with little chance of ever going to school. That was six years ago. Today an old blackboard, laced by a cat's cradle of silver cobwebs, preserves that last lesson inside a silent classroom.

Now terrorism is something that the Government of Pakistan is trying its best to solve but the awareness od education can actually stop this spread of terrorism. The Taliban movement was born in Pakistan's madrassas, giving these institutions a reputation as factories for extremism, dedicated to brainwashing their pupils and turning out terrorist recruits. And so by educating the future generation of Pakistan (which includes both girls and boys) we can stop this extremism and rise of Taliban.

Rising Street Crimes Expose Govt's Tall Claims

Police used tactic strategy to show the decline in crime rate rather than to curb the activities of the criminals. The policy of showing decline in the crime rate is usually employed in the police department from top to bottom. The conventional methods used to evaluate the police performance are being employed even at the higher echelons in different ways while the weekly registration of crime cases, severity of cases and number of FIRs are the only method to assess the police performance. the most common practice that has been used by the police is to change the subject of FIR. when a person goes to tha police station for his case regarding snatched vehicle and mobile phone, the officials file the FIR of the stolen or missing.
Majority of the victims of mobile snatching doesn't go to police stations for the registration of FIR until they are deprived of other valuables such as national identity card and the things. otherwise the victims of mobile phone snatching just imformed the mobile phone company to de-active the sim card only. The same thing happened with shafi baloch who is an employee of the nation who was depressed of his cell phone and his id cards (NIC) at a gun point just beside the office situated on the mohammad ali jinnah road. He requested the jamshed town police station to register his FIR. the police registered the FIR but changed the subject.he said the police registered the case after he introduced himself but when he returned to home and read out the FIR.. its subject was changed completely as the police had mentioned that his mobile and other valuables lost when he was on the way to office. a similar tactic was used in the case of one Adnan, who had been deprived of his motorcycle at gunpoint while the police registered the theft case.

Visiting Central Jail(camp): A tragedy or Justice???

Visiting Central Jail (camp) Ichra, Lahore was a very different experience of my life. I have never been to such place or never had a chance to experience the reality of life. The moment I entered the jail I saw families and families waiting to meet their loved one who were behind the bars for different reasons. They were carrying food, clothes and other essential accessories for their loved ones who were living there.

Although I had a recommendation letter, still some of the policemen their thought that I was there for the same reason, to meet someone who was locked there. I had to wait there for few couple of minutes when I was taken to the superintendent’s office who was fortunately my uncle and thanks to him who made all these arrangements and made this interview possible. After waiting again for a couple of minutes I was taken to the IT room where the defendant was brought for the interview. At my first glance he seemed an innocent child because the very first second I saw him I couldn’t figure out that was he the one who was brought in for interview? Then I started off with the interview I couldn’t believe that he was just 16 year old and committed a murder however which was later revealed that it was unfortunately an unintentional murder. Talking to him and discussing his case with him made me feel pity for him and it was clear enough to see that he was regretting every second of his life for what he did by mistake. He said if he gets a chance to run he’ll make sure that without wasting a single second he’ll run from the jail because he is sick and tired of living there. The only support he is looking forward is his family and is praying day and night to get out of there. In these 8 months the only problem regarding his health is itching problem due to the insufficient cleanliness measures rest is all ok. He is getting education there as well and is waiting to get out of their as soon as possible so that he can earn a good future for rest of his life, where he is planning to go abroad study and work.

Juvnile Delinquency

In a society, where dearth of moral and social justice are the root causes of a corrupt social disorder there is a dire need for recognition of these problems and understanding their importance in the disruption of our society. Juvenile Delinquency has become a global epidemic and is spreading in developed and developing societies in both organized and semi-organized manners. It has become a social phenomenon in Pakistan, particularly in Lahore, where the zenith of social injustice prevails. Juvenile crime is the broad-based term given to juveniles who commit crimes. Juveniles are defined as those people who haven’t reached adulthood or the age of majority. What defines adulthood or the age of majority in a court system may be predetermined by law, especially for minor crimes. Major crimes may force the courts to decide to try a juvenile as an adult, a very important distinction, since sentencing can then mean not just spending adolescence, but a lifetime in prison. Delinquency can be defined as the committing of those things considered crimes by the state, although delinquent can also mean abandoned. Thus juvenile delinquency can cover anything from small crime — a student who cuts school repeatedly is delinquent--to very serious crimes like felony theft and murder.
